In April, Dutch author and Holocaust survivor Dirk van Leenen is taking groups of people to his home country, The Netherlands.
“Americans often tell me, ‘We went to Holland. We visited Amsterdam. That is all,’” Dirk said.
“The Netherlands have so much more to offer,” he continued. “Quaint villages and more than 100 years of history, architecture and museums show how the country literally kept its head above water.”
The groups will see the tulip fields and Keukenhof, one of the world’s largest flower gardens. Everything will be full bloom in April. The entire country is blooming with fruit trees and lilacs, rhododendrons and azaleas.
“We are taking groups of 50 people on tours across the entire country, to places they will never forget,” Dirk said. “We will be staying in different hotels, so we can show people the different landscapes of the country. Of course, we will see the Rembrandt and Van Gogh, and Anne Franks’ house. More interesting, however, are the villages like Giethoorn, Staphorst and Hindeloopen, Edam and Alkmaar, Delft and Apeldoorn. These are places where people still live in the Middle Ages and wear their village costumes. These tours will be unforgettable,” Dirk continued.
“We stay in four first-class hotels and dine at equally first-class restaurants. Every meal, every excursion, travel by a tour bus, as well as the airfare all are included in the price,” said Dirk.
Every guest will receive a local cell phone, so they will always be able to talk to the tour leader in case they are lost or late.
Departure dates are April 9, 19 and 29. Each tour hosts up to 50 people. Bookings are coming in fast, since this is a unique tour at a very reasonable price.
