If the holidays find you getting caught between a rock and a hard place and paying extra for last-minute shipping, your local The UPS Store can certainly help beat the rush.
“Rule No. 1, mind your timelines when shipping packages,” said Steve Moog, owner of The UPS Store on Power and McDowell roads. “At the latest, have your packages ready for UPS ground to the East Coast by Dec. 9, to the Mid- and Northwest by Dec. 14.”
If the crunch still catches up with you, UPS can deliver your packages by 3-Day, 2-Day, or Next-Day Air in time for Christmas Eve. The UPS Store also provides postal services, including Priority Mail. Packages being sent to an APO/FPO should be mailed by Dec. 1 to ensure timely delivery.
“The UPS Store exclusively offers The Pack-and-Ship Promise to take one more task off our customers’ hands,” Steve explained. “If we package your gift, we promise to get it there in one piece, or it is covered by insurance, guaranteed.”
The UPS Store at Power and McDowell roads has been open for nearly 10 years. It offers a variety of decorative holiday packaging boxes, padded mailers, holiday cards and accessories, as well as office supplies, faxing, copying and printing services for one-stop errand runs.
“We can also print your custom-designed holiday cards,” Steve pointed out. That’s a real bonus during crunch time, because staff can help with design and format. Cards can be ordered in batches of 25. They take 48 hours to process.
The seasoned The UPS Store staff is well prepared to take on the holiday wave. This store has the latest Next-Day Air pick up (5:30 p.m.) in the area. For the season, store hours will be extended to 7 p.m. on weekdays (last UPS pickup of the day at 6:30 p.m.) and to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
“Every package we ship is treated like a last-minute delivery,” Steve said. “We’ll do everything to get each one safely to the correct address right on time.” UPS will send you an e-mail with the tracking information for your assurance.
So, get ahead of the game. Expedited service requires higher rates. “Last minute people pay extra,” Steve said. He admits he is one of them. However, he has a good excuse. His first priority is getting all of our UPS packages shipped out on time.
