Time is short, and those last minute gifts still need to be boxed and shipped, so just take them to The UPS Store at Power and McDowell roads, and let their certified packing experts do the work for you.
According to store owner Steve Moog, he and his staff have had video and hands-on training courses on how to pack even the most fragile of items (like using double-boxing), and know which packaging materials work best for things like electronics, antiques and glass. They stock all kinds of box sizes and packing materials to fit any challenge. The UPS Store also offers the Pack n’ Ship promise, which guarantees the safe arrival of your items when packaged by The UPS Store.
Steve suggests getting your packages out by Friday, Dec. 9, for UPS Ground to the Northeast. Friday, Dec. 23, is the last day they can ship for Christmas Eve delivery with Express shipping. Last deliveries will be made on Dec. 24. The UPS Store also ships Parcel Post, First Class Mail and Priority Mail. His store has expanded hours for the holidays, and is now open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Going on vacation? “Ship your wrapped gifts ahead, instead of trying to pack them in your luggage or carry them on the plane,” Steve suggested.
If your stay will be longer, and you need more luggage, or you don’t want to get caught at the airport with overweight or extra baggage, which can cost additional fees, bring your suitcases to The UPS Store. They will weigh and ship them for you.
“The UPS Store now also offers luggage boxes,” Steve said. “It’s not just a box. It’s a suitcase with options. Pack it, ship it, check it or carry it on. You choose. You can pack your belongings in their airline-sized boxes with handles, or pack your suitcase inside it,” he continued. “You can either carry them or have UPS ship them ahead so they will be waiting for you at your destination. And you can keep track of everything with UPS Internet tracking.”
Luggage boxes also are a great way to ship ahead various business items, such as samples and printed materials. “You don’t have the hassle of lugging them through airports and long security lines,” Steve said. “The luggage box also is great for fragile items, a tradeshow or conference carrier, file box or even keepsake storage.”
Large or odd-shaped items often require specialized packaging. The UPS Store offers custom handling and packaging, from blanket wrap, to custom cartons, crating, shrink-wrapping and palletizing.
