Renee Hadyka invites the community to visit Studio 480 the Salon, her full service salon, located on the southwest corner of Power and McDowell roads.
Experience and a friendly atmosphere are the guiding principles of Studio 480, opened to continue the legacy of Renee’s parents. They had owned another salon in the area before deciding to retire as business owners.
Renee, an Arizona State University (ASU) graduate and stylist for 11 years, stepped in after talking to her mother. She decided, however, to put her own twist on the family business.
“I wanted to modernize it,” Renee said.
From that decision, Studio 480 was born.
Renee’s mother, Irene Ulman, a hairdresser for more than 50 years, continues to work in the new salon as a stylist.
The salon, which opened in July, offers quality products and a variety of salon services, from perms, to highlights, as well as nail services.
“We’re really a well-rounded neighborhood salon,” Renee said. “We specialize in all ages.”
Studio 480 prides itself on being a down-to-earth salon, offering a warm and welcoming family environment.
“When a client walks in the front door, it’s like Cheers,” said Renee. “We are close friends.”
The salon not only offers a feeling of community, but owners Renee and her husband David also are actively involved in bettering East Mesa and the Valley.
Renee has volunteered by cutting hair for Sunshine Acres Children’s Home residents for seven years. She also serves on the advisory board, for the School of Cosmetology, at East Valley Institute of Technology. In addition, she has provided wigs and makeup for ASU Gammage Broadway performances for more than10 years.
“I’m really invested in this community,” Renee said.
David remains actively involved in the community by working for Mesa Public Schools.
To learn more about Studio 480 the Salon, attend the open house on Nov. 15, from noon to 5 p.m., at 6655 E. McDowell Road, Suite 105.
“Anyone from the community can come by,” said Renee. “There will be food, drink, prizes and fun for the entire family.”
Studio 480 the Salon will also be accepting canned and non-perishable food items at the open house to donate to Sunshine Acres. For every item donated, up to 10, the salon will give $1 off a future hair service.
