Peel away the winter gray

Cold, dry winter air can wreak havoc with your skin, with skin tone looking dull and wrinkles seeming deeper.

To peel away that winter gray, Cosmos Salon and MedSpa has put together some spring facial-peel specials to get back your golden glow.

“This month, we are proud to re-introduce and feature our entire line of PCA Skin skincare products,” MedSpa Director Muschi Morga stated. “We have been working with PCA for many years, and I use this medical grade skincare line myself every day because it definitely works.”

During March, the Medspa is offering any PCA peel for only $75, and 10 percent off retail for all PCA products. “Please note, we also will be using PCA products in all of our regular facials, as well,” Muschi said.

“Peels are a major step in revitalizing your skin,” she continued. “It is an exfoliation that removes the top layer of dead skin cells revealing fresher, new skin. Uneven skin tone and wrinkle depth are diminished. It is the canvas on which we can begin to apply hydrating and rejuvenating serums and other skincare essentials.”

PCA treatments and products are available exclusively through licensed skin health professionals trained and certified by PCA Skin in their use. Muschi and all MedSpa aestheticians are PCA certified.

PCA Skin, founded in Scottsdale by an aesthetician working with physicians, is constantly coming up with new and improved products to keep us ahead of the pack in terms of products and blending of ingredients.

According to the company’s website, pcaskin.com, “PCA Skin is the leader in chemical peels, with more than 25 years formulating the best and most innovative professional treatments in the industry. More than one million PCA Skin peels are performed globally each year.”

Muschi appreciates the quality of the company professionals. “Their research and development team is local and incredible,” Muschi related. “Good news. All PCA Skin products are free of synthetic dyes and fragrances, mineral oil, petrolatum, lanolin and phthalates.”

PCA also is known for its peel line. The company has everything from the beginner sensi peel to the new and aggressive 6 percent retinol peel. It’s very unique compared to anything else out there because it is the only full 6 percent pure retinol peel.

The peel also contains natural ingredients, such as silybum marianum fruit extract, olea europaea fruit oil and tocopherol, which are powerful antioxidants to help fight free radicals. In addition, it contains a skin-calming ingredient, calendula flower extract. So, the client feels more of a cooling sensation than the tingling/burning of a typical peel. They are very safe and self-neutralizing.

Muschi invites everyone to come in for a free consultation to see which products will work for you. “The staff can assist in finding the right solutions for an individual’s problem areas, and, of course, provide spa facials and treatments for any skin type,” she said.

For more information on products and services, or to make an appointment, call (480) 887-0671, or visit Cosmos Salon and MedSpa, in The Village at Las Sendas, at the northeast corner of Power and McDowell roads.
