In the chaos of educational cutbacks and children being lost in supersized classrooms, Mesa Christian Academy is a gem hiding in Mesa, offering an individualized learning approach supported by spiritual growth.
“Our vision is to provide a quality Christian education at an affordable price,” Acting Director and School Board Chair, Deanna Harder said. “We instill a love for learning, back-to-the-basics academics and character enhancement in a nurturing but structured environment.”
The curriculum is unique, offering two learning tracts with an enviable student-to-teacher ratio of 6-to-1 or less. The K through 8 Traditional Program is a teacher-directed program in a classroom setting. The Self-Paced Program for K through 12 uses the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum, proven worldwide to benefit gifted students, as well as those with learning gaps. All students enjoy art, music, physical education, field trips, Bible study, community service projects and weekly chapel services. Pre- and after-school care options are available.
The academy’s simple dress code, a polo shirt with slacks or skirts, removes any distracting fashionista competition. “Our high school students look just like our kindergarteners, only taller,” laughs Deanna.
Mesa Christian Academy begins its second academic year for grades K through 12 on Aug. 15. The spacious campus is located on the First Baptist Church of Mesa grounds, located at 4801 E. Brown Road between Higley and Greenfield roads.
An open house is slated for mid-July.
The office is available for enrollment questions, as well as scholarship information and visits Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call (480) 641-1970, or visit the Web site at www.mesachristianacademy.org.
