GOLF ACADEMY
TWO LAS SENDAS JUNIORS START BRIGHT FUTURE
Wow. We have some up and coming golf stars. The Las Sendas Junior Program is proud of Kendall McBean and Kayla Hopkins for their accomplishment in making the Red Mountain High School Golf Team. It is so rewarding to see our juniors develop into great players and more importantly, amazing young adults.
Our Junior Golf Sticks Program provides a lifetime of enjoyment of the game. The program also offers a solid foundation for girls and boys who want to play for fun with friends and family and to compete at the high school and college level. Another benefit of the program is learning for future career purposes inside and outside the golf industry.
The Las Sendas Golf Academy offers two different programs. Sticks, for ages 5 through 15, is for the beginning golfer looking for basic fundamentals of golf. Big Sticks, for ages 12 through 15, is for the more advanced junior preparing for high school and college golf.
Our Junior Golf Program begins on Friday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Sessions start as low as $20 for each Friday. Space is limited.
Registration forms and additional information are available on our website at www.lassendas.com (Instruction/Programs), in the golf shop, or by email to Tracy Berman at tberman@lassendas.com.
GOLF TIPS FROM MIKE MALASKA
With the recent split of Tiger Woods and golf instructor Sean Foley, I want to touch on the importance of instruction and knowing how to pick a great teacher.
If you are trying to decide about whether or not you should take a golf lesson, consider this… There is an endless amount of random information out there in the golf world on how you should learn the game. How do you know, however, what tips or drills are right for you? What is the proper sequence you should be going through in order to maximize your potential? Practicing is only valuable if you are practicing the right things, and the proper instructor should be able to decide what is correct for each individual student.
When choosing the right instructor, make sure this professional doesn’t fit you into one specific model swing or method. Instead, this instructor should evaluate your physical build, any limitations you may have, and any unique swing tendencies you already have developed.
Golf is an individual expression of how you move athletically. It is an art form, not a science. Taking lessons can be extremely valuable, especially from any of the instructors with the Malaska Golf Academy at Las Sendas. Let them help you un-complicate the game and get the most out of your practice.
