After almost six years as chef at the Flancer’s Incredible Sandwiches and Pizzeria in Gilbert, Greg Ringel recently was named general manager of Flancer’s in Mesa, according to owner Jeff Flancer.
A chef for almost 30 years, Greg really enjoys the food part of the restaurant business, but wanted to try something new. “After working with Flancer’s all these years, I really know the culture of Flancer’s,” he said. “A general manager is a hands-on kind of job. You need to do everything. I have a true passion for perfection, and want to share that passion with the customers and staff, making sure the cooking is done right, making sure the customers are happy and overseeing all aspects of the experience.”
According to Greg, the standard menu items will remain, but he has plans for some excitingly tasty specials, beer and wine pairings and theme items, like their recently popular Valentine’s Dinner to Go. Greg appeared on Fox 10 News to demonstrate the heat-and-serve gourmet creation.
Right now, Greg is helping coordinate Flancer’s Raising the Fun fund-raising events, as well as the Pizza-Eating Contest, which run from March 15 to April 22.
Flancer’s is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with happy hour every day from 3 to 7 p.m.
