The UPS Store, at Power and McDowell roads, in the Albertson’s Shopping Plaza, is collecting donations for Operation Santa Claus and Toys for Tots Literacy Program.
Your local The UPS Store is joining forces with ABC15 and Sanderson Ford and Lincoln to sponsor the 15th annual Operation Santa Claus donation drive. Collections are being accepted now through Dec. 17, and will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank, Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center, Military Assistance Mission and Ronald McDonald Charities of Greater Phoenix. Donations can include new, unwrapped toys, clothing items, packaged foods and monetary donations.
Launched in March 2008, the Toys for Tots Literacy Program offers the nation’s most economically disadvantaged children the ability to compete academically and to succeed in life. The program provides them direct access to books and educational resources, which enhance their ability to read and to communicate effectively.
All 100 percent of the proceeds go to support local children and literacy programs. Every dollar helps put a book into the hands of a local child in need.
During the holiday season, The UPS Store will be open extended hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Sunday, through Dec. 23. The store will close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26.
The UPS Store is located in the Albertson’s Shopping Plaza, at 2733 N. Power Road, Suite 102. For more information, call (480) 641-1744.
