If you have an interest in learning about solar super storms, reverse mortgages, Channel Islands in WWII, medical marijuana, the traveling gardener, emergency preparedness, memory tips and tricks, sociology of sports, skeptic’s guide to history, or many other subjects, join New Frontiers for Lifelong Learning.
For the fall semester, 69 classes were offered. After paying $60 for the spring semester and summer session, people can sign up for as many classes as their schedule will allow. Sign up on Jan. 27, via computer.
Classes meet at the three Mesa Community College (MCC) campuses (Southern Avenue and Dobson Road; Downtown, at 165 N. Centennial Way; and Red Mountain, at McKellips and Power roads). Other locations include East Valley Adult Resource centers, at 247 N. Macdonald St. and 7550 E. Adobe Road, as well as many other locations in Mesa.
New Frontiers for Lifelong Learning, sponsored by MCC, is a peer-led organization, which offers the opportunity to expand your learning and increase your social resources. The organization also provides opportunities to volunteer for the college and in the community.

An open house for learning more about this organization and to join will take place on Friday, Jan. 23, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the MCC Downtown Center, located on the fourth floor at 145 N. Centennial Way, in Mesa. Park in the parking garage on the second and third floors, and take the steps or elevator to the fourth floor.
Registration for classes will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. on. Registration will be by computer only. Those who don’t have a computer or access to one or a friend able to offer assistance can go to the second floor of the Downtown campus, and people will be there to help with registration on Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
