The Las Sendas Quilt Club is thrilled to announce the return of its yearly showcase and annual fundraising event on Sunday, March 27. This will be the show’s 16th anniversary with more than 100 quilts on display.
Because Quilt Club members have a wide array of quilting interests, the show will feature all sizes and styles of quilts. These will include modern, abstract, traditional, handmade, vintage, and machine- and hand-quilted projects.
The 2022 quilt show will also spotlight this year’s annual club challenge — UFOs (unfinished objects) and PHDs (projects half-done). We challenged club members to finish as many UFOs and PHDs as possible before the show (with a prize at the end for the winner).
SUPPORT IN EVERY STITCH
The quilt club has 35 active members and meets monthly at the Las Sendas Trailhead Members Club. Additionally, the group hosts monthly sew days, where members bring their projects to work on, share their quilting talents and techniques, and enjoy one another’s friendship. The club is also devoted to supporting local charities, and club members must complete at least one charity quilt annually.
Through the years, the club has donated hundreds of quilts, pillowcases, tote bags, backpacks, pillows, handmade journals, and even dog beds for animal shelters. For more information, please contact Penny at penny1ct@aol.com.
The Las Sendas Quilt Show will be held on Sunday, March 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Las Sendas Trailhead Members Club, 7900 E. Eagle Crest Drive, Mesa. Entrance donations will be collected as free-will offerings. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Sunshine Acres Children’s Home in Mesa.
