Salt River Tubing welcomes floaters to its Mega Hawaiian Hula, on Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
This event is your opportunity to enjoy a hula adventure on the Lower Salt River in gorgeous Tonto National Forest. Throw on a beachcomber hat and luau shirt. Float your tube Hawaiian-style.
Salt River Tubing’s Hula Honeys will welcome the first 1,000 Hula fun-seekers with free Hawaiian leis. The event showcases the grass-shaking Hula Honey Line Dancers, as well as limbo and hula-hoop contests. Radio personalities from KISSFM 104.7 will also take part.
Salt River Tubing will award free tube rental passes and Limited Edition Mega Hula T-shirts for the best Hawaiian tuber costumes. The tubing passes are valid on your return visit. Hawaiian tiki barges will transport guests to the Lower Salt River for fun in the sun on rocking rapids.
Salt River Tubing President and Chief Executive Officer Henri Breault asked, “No time or money to visit Hawaii for summertime fun? No worries,” he stated confidently. “During our Mega Hawaiian Hula event, you can join us dancing the Hawaiian Hukilau, and then set sail on your tube down the cool and refreshing waters of the Salt River. Don’t forget your camera to capture photos of the wild horses crossing mid-stream or the blue herons gliding along the river,” he continued. “Enjoy unique, memorable fun in the sun in Tonto National Forest.”
The Mega Hawaiian Hula event, co-sponsored by KISSFM 104.7 and Salt River Tubing, is aligned with The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service’s More Kids in the Woods commitment in meeting the challenge of reduced youth involvement in outdoor activities. The program was expressly designed to encourage efforts to get kids and teens outdoors in their national forests.
