Happy Pets Palace & Playground celebrated an enthusiastic grand opening this past month, with many proud parents bringing their pets to the welcoming, comfortable and safe facility in the heart of Northeast Mesa.
“The response has been overwhelmingly amazing,” commented Linda Huss, founder and managing member of Happy Pets, which offers pet boarding and doggy daycare, as well as an extensive playground and self-service dog wash. “We encourage everyone to make their reservations soon, as we are almost sold out.”
Linda said she noticed most of the pet parents were impressed with the details of Happy Pets Palace & Playground, including the reverse osmosis drinking water and temperature monitoring. Also appreciated was the calming atmosphere, complete with music designed to improve health and behavior.
“Pet parents are particular,” Linda remarked. “They don’t want their dog sitting in the kennel all day.” So, pets can spend social time on the artificial turf and environmentally friendly playgrounds.
Due to the facility’s off-leash, group play environment, a formal evaluation and screening process is required. Dogs of any breed demonstrating signs of aggressive behavior or bullying are not allowed at Happy Pets Palace & Playground.
“We can work with dogs who need extra attention, who have anxiety when they leave their families,” said Linda.
Most everyone participating in the grand opening had positive things to say. “This is a great facility,” said Sophia Larsen, who attends Mountain View High School as a freshman, and was crowned Miss Arizona Junior Teen, at the Miss America Co-ed Pageant. “The pets get really spoiled here.”
Kailyn, who was at Happy Pets Palace & Playground with her dog, said she and her family were there to find a place to board Charlie. “We like the fact they have the web cams, so you can view while you’re gone,” said Kailyn’s mom, Gina Aikens.
According to morning supervisor Chris Redwanc, pet parents can be assured their dogs are safe. “This is a very nice, clean facility,” she commented. “Parents can feel safe leaving their pets here, and we all are trained in CPR.”
Local Mesa resident Jeannie Inserra expressed a desire to have her dog try out Happy Pets Palace & Playground. “He loves playing with other dogs,” she said of Rudy, her love.
The youngest employee at Happy Pets, Bella Berry, a Red Mountain High School student, was pleased to discuss the natural treats offered at the facility. “All of our products are from Halo, all whole foods and the very best for the dogs.”
