Enjoy locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables at the Las Sendas Farmers Market, located at the Trailhead Members Club parking lot, every other Saturday, until the end of April, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Vendors will have their stalls set up at the Trailhead Parke on Feb. 9 and 23, March 9 and 23 and April 6 and 20. This is your chance to support local producers and encourage sustainability.
One of the great things about stopping by the Farmers Market in Las Sendas is the chance to taste products before making a purchase.
Red Mountain Cattle Company produces grass-fed beef less than five miles from Las Sendas. Manager Tim Kenney can tell you all about how the meat he raises differs from the store-bought variety, including the fact his cows are not given steroids. They also produce free-range chickens, eggs and honey.
Jake Markham, of Davy Jones Seafood, will describe how he and his family catch salmon using gill nets in Alaska, flash freeze the fish and bring it to Arizona.
Green Bee Produce has all manner of fresh fruits and vegetables from which to select, as well as mint extract, salsas and sauces. You will find some unusual varieties of seasonal produce, including species of apples and onions never seen at supermarkets.
Baker Gloria Dickson, from Glorious Food, has a very tempting display of goodies she herself makes—muffins, cakes, cookies, jellies, pickles, soups and salads. She has it all.
All enthusiastic vendors have unique stories to tell about their products, and many have samples for taste testing. It is worth dropping by and treating yourself to some of the freshest and most delicious food in Northeast Mesa.
Las Sendas is located at 7900 E. Eagle Crest Drive.
