The weather may not seem to be ready for fall, but Sandra and Cosmo Barbetta, together with their stylists at Cosmos Salon and Day Spa, are ready with all the hottest new trends for this fall’s hairstyles, colors and hair accessories.
The Cosmos staff recently spent an entire day at the salon training with one of the world’s five top hairstylists and educators from Los Angeles. Michael Haase revealed all the latest techniques from Europe and around the globe.
“He also introduced new hair color products from Europe, which are more pigmented, longer lasting, gentle and provide 100 percent gray coverage,” said Sandra. “It contains very finely ground sea shells, which impart shine and luster to the hair.”
Sandra, who always works to stay ahead of the fashion trends, said, “We want our clients to have everything they need to look like the stars out on the runway. We get our inspirations from all the new fashion ideas, and adapt the looks for all age groups.”
A current trend is a bit unexpected. “Surprisingly, some of the hottest new colors people are clamoring for this season are the granny grays and platinum shades, for both older and young alike,” Sandra said. “Baby lights, very thin highlights of these and other shades, are also the rage. Cosmos stylists are using these and other new techniques, in highlights and hair painting, to give you that street look.”
According to Sandra, a current big hit with the Hollywood A list crowd is bronde. “They’re warming up their deep browns and darkening their blondes,” she said. “Taylor Swift has been seen with this look. Ombres and reverse ombres, with dark to light and light to dark, are also popular. We can develop a look for you, whether it’s an all-over solid color, like glossy chocolate to warm browns, or chic honey lights.”
“Red hair this season carries some serious sex appeal and elegance, which can be extraordinarily dominating when partnered with a layered haircut,” Sandra stated.
If you’re not sure what color is right for you, Sandra suggests trying a semi-permanent color, or go for an overall look, which is more subtle, like baby lights, or a light touch of color.
“Headbands of various sizes and designs lead the pack in hair accessories this fall, shown with all types of hairstyles,” Sandra said. “It’s a return to the 70s Boho Chic styles, with fuss-free waves and makeup, which is totally Twiggy. Low ponytails are fashionable, wrapped with cords or ribbons,” she continued. “Braids still are big. Intricate buns, on top of the head or in back, also are shown intertwined with cords, feathers and other trinkets.”
As always, Sandra invites everyone to come in for a free consultation about what styles and colors are best for each individual. The stylists can also show you how to care for your new style.
