The Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department offers a wide variety of opportunities to our residents.
The department is best known for offering quality recreation activities and programs at a great value.
As we approach the end of the school year, I want to remind everyone that registration for summer activities begins in early April. You can visit mesaparks.com to explore all the activities, programs, camps and lessons offered.
At this time, I would like to highlight the following upcoming flagship event for the City of Mesa.
Celebrate Mesa 2019
Celebrate Mesa is a free community event commemorating the amazing parks Mesa has to offer, while showcasing City departments and services to our residents in a fun and entertaining environment. I invite you to join in on the festivities.
Celebrate Mesa takes place on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Pioneer Park, 526 E. Main St.
The free admission event features live entertainment, a petting zoo, food trucks, contests and giveaways. There also will be a KidZone with bounce houses and kids’ games. Younger children will enjoy the Tot Spot Toddler area. Fun for older children includes carnival rides. For $5, wristbands can be purchased for unlimited rides.
Celebrate Mesa participants will have the opportunity to explore the Living Green Village and learn how to celebrate Earth Day every day by recycling and reducing waste.
Pioneer Park is newly renovated with a state-of-the-art playground, which includes a water wall and splash pad.

I hope you take advantage of the great programming provided by the Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department and attend Celebrate Mesa.
