Since swimming is one of the favorite activities of Valley residents during the hot months ahead, James Deremiah, owner of Doctor Pool, a Mesa-based pool service, is providing his best tips for a safe and happy summer.
Check your pool systems to ensure everything is running properly
Out of balance water chemistry can make your pool cloudy, irritate the skin, discolor hair and cause red eyes. Broken equipment can lead to costly and often unnecessary repairs or replacement. James recommends starting each pool season with a Doctor Pool inspection, for just $75. Pool owners receive a full emailed report, and for just $20 more, Doctor Pool can provide a training course on pool maintenance.
“This time of year gets really busy for pool service and repairs, as well as pool enjoyment,” said James. “Everything stresses your pool during this time. With the heat, chemicals don’t perform well. So, it’s good to have a pool service company come and check your pool’s chemicals.”
Keep the pool free from debris
Keeping the pool free of debris not only makes the pool more visually appealing, but also ensures proper water flow and prevents pool issues, such as algae. James recommends cleaning out pool baskets daily during Arizona’s monsoon season.
Keep an eye on all children
Making sure to watch kids around water is a critical component of pool safety, and flotation devices or swim lessons can’t be used as a substitute for supervision.
Doctor Pool has been in business for more than 30 years, providing services across the Valley—from pool inspection or regular maintenance, to pool installation or resurfacing. Doctor Pool can even install a heater or heat pump to help pool owners make the most of their pool all year long.
