Desert Rose Preschool at Las Sendas: March 2011

by Rose Buttitta March 5, 2011
written by Rose Buttitta March 5, 2011

desert rose preschool educationThe children of Desert Rose Preschool at Las Sendas have been learning about a wide range of subjects, with everything from American history, to the meaning of Ground Hog Day, always having a good time in the process.

Celebrating February

February was a month of celebration and learning new skills. The children celebrated Valentine’s Day with a party of love and sharing special valentines with their classmates, as well as a gift for their moms.

We learned about Groundhog Day. Everyone was glad to learn we will have an early spring.

The children also learned about George Washington, the first president of the United States, and honest Abe Lincoln.

We learned about taking care of our teeth from the staff of Dr. Frost, who sponsored the Snow Day. Everyone received a new toothbrush.

Progress Continues

Progress reports were sent home for parents to review. They can be proud of their children’s progress.

We continued practicing our cutting skills and learning about math and opposites. The children began learning the readiness words. We did patterning and sequencing by making bracelets. We are working hard on making sure the children learn to recognize all letters of the alphabet and numbers from 1 to 20. They also are learning to write all letters and numbers. They are recognizing their names with ongoing practice.
