The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Ignatius Church is opening its annual bake sale to the public on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Homemade Eastern European delicacies, such as nut rolls, poppy seed rolls and apricot rolls, will be available. Our experienced bakers make both a Russian- and Serbian-style nut roll, just like grandma used to make. Stop by for a sample and a cup of coffee to determine which nut roll is your favorite.
Perhaps you are looking for something special and different to take to a holiday event. Our authentic homemade baklava is what you need. In addition, our bakers have been busy making all kinds of holiday treats, from chocolate covered peanut butter balls, to dipped pretzels and marshmallows, to your favorite cookies. At the bake sale, you can purchase custom-made party trays filled with holiday delights for your festivities, as well as individual dozens of cookies.
Our holiday bread elves have prepared a wide variety of specialty homemade breads. You can select from your basic banana nut bread, to the exotic chocolate zucchini bread, and everything in between.
The St. Ignatius Ladies Auxiliary is holding this bake sale to supplement our building fund. We moved into our Northeast Mesa location five years ago, and have had the great opportunity to expand to accommodate our growth. Our church continues to grow as an English speaking Eastern Orthodox Christian Church, and is part of the Antiochian Orthodox Church of North America. Additionally, some of the money raised is used to fund community service projects.
We love visitors and hope our neighbors will stop by to visit and get to know us. For information regarding the bake sale, or if you have questions regarding the church, please contact Jill Benza at (480) 388-0378.
Visit the church at 5515 E. Redmont Circle, located between Recker and Higley roads, on the north side of Thomas Road.
