The holidays wouldn’t be the holidays without Campbell’s Dance Studio’s presentation of The Nutcracker ballet.
For the past 23 years, under the direction of Frances Campbell, the ballet has been an exciting and nostalgic community tradition, providing a stage for many talented local students of classical ballet.
This year is the start of a new tradition. Frances recently retired and turned over her lifetime’s work to new owner, Tina (Cluff) McCarey. Tina has a lifelong relationship with Frances’ family, and has taught at the studio. Tina intends to carry on the traditions of the studio Frances founded.
The venue for The Nutcracker also has changed. This year, it will be performed at Red Mountain High School, located at 7301 E. Brown Road, on Friday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
In addition, Campbell’s studio students will perform a holiday show entitled The Polar Express, on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Mountain View High School, located at 2700 E. Brown Road.
Tickets for all performances are available at Campbell’s Dance Studio, 2820 E. University Drive, Suite 106. For more information, visit the new Web site at www.campbellsdancaz.com, or call (480) 830-3450.
