With two holidays in March, Breadsmith will provide an extra helping of goodness.
St. Patrick’s Day and Easter are in March, and Breadsmith is offering special products to enhance both holiday celebrations.
Serve up a little Luck o’ the Irish this St. Patrick’s Day with Irish soda bread. “Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day is a rite of spring, and no celebration, whether it’s a family meal or gathering of the whole clan, would be complete without Irish soda bread,” said Greg Farr, owner and operator of Breadsmith.
Golden round loaves of wheat and white flour, rolled oats and sweet raisins are the perfect complement to Irish stew, beef braised in stout, or whatever tickles your Irish fancy. The whole wheat gives this bread a nutty flavor in harmony with its velvety texture.
“Due to customer input,” said Greg, “we have expanded the dates we are offering Irish soda bread, from March 1 through March 17.”
Hot Cross Buns are a sure sign of Easter and the coming of spring. Breadsmith has created a delectable version fragrant with cinnamon, raisins and the zest and juice of sweet oranges, topped with the traditional X of powdered sugar icing.
Tradition holds that Hot Cross Buns made on Good Friday have special curative powers. “We can’t vouch for that,” Greg stated, “but we can say they’re absolutely delicious!”
Hot Cross Buns will be available from March 19 through March 31.
