Banner Baywood Medical Center recently opened a Memory Clinic to provide assessments for people who are concerned about memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive impairment.
The Memory Clinic provides a consultation service that includes cognitive testing, diagnosis, treatment and guidance for adults who have problems with memory. The clinic is located adjacent to Banner Baywood in a medical office building at 6553 E. Baywood Ave., Suite 212 in Mesa.
Memory loss that is more than expected with age, or mild cognitive impairment, may be a precursor to Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. Research supports that early detection and treatment may be most effective in delaying the onset and progression of disabling memory loss and function. The Baywood memory clinic is designed to identify the precursors to cognitive impairment and bring the resources of the hospital’s neurosciences to bear in providing treatment options.
