The President’s Honors Scholarship is available to recent Maricopa County high school graduates with a minimum 3.25 GPA and provides funds covering tuition up to 15 credit hours plus registration fees for two consecutive years. (mesacc.edu/ presidents-honors-scholarship). You are not required to take honors classes in high school to be eligible.
Mesa College Promise (mesacc. edu/mesa-promise) has been expanded to two years of tuition and fees at Mesa Community College for eligible Mesa residents who are 24 years of age or older who graduated from high school or have a GED but have not completed a college degree.
The deadline for applying is July 15, 2024, for the fall semester. Miss the deadline and be entered into a wait list. Mesa College Promise was originally launched in 2021 for recent high school graduates as a public and private partnership with the City of Mesa, MCC, and the business sector, and continues to increase the number of Mesa residents succeeding at MCC.
Register for classes at Mesa Community College pursuing a certificate or degree in behavioral science, health science, or education and apply for one of the college’s new scholarships covering the cost of tuition, course fees, books, and other needs. Two scholarships — the Behavioral Health Scholarship and the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Career Education and Training Scholarship — support students pursuing careers making a difference in their communities.
Enroll in a health, education, or relevant community service program and apply until Aug. 30, 2024, for the fall semester (mesacc.edu/healthcare-scholarships).
Mary Boyce, dean of health sciences, says the education programs and certificates at the MCC Red Mountain campus reflect jobs that are in demand in the healthcare industry, including the nursing, nurse assisting, emergency medical technology (EMT), and dental hygiene professions.
