Over seeding is complete, and the greens are looking spectacular at Apache Wells Country Club (AWCC).
In addition to the golf course, there is a full service driving range and practice area. Golfers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to join Jim and Jeff’s Swing Clinic every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Apache Wells driving range. Take part in the clinic at the bargain rate of $5 per person. As they say, Don’t Practice Your Mistakes.
The new club house will celebrate its first anniversary on Nov. 2. The country club amenities include the sleek, new golf shop, which is headed up by Professional Golf Association (PGA) Professional Bruce Taubert and assisted by PGA Golf Professional Jeff Furnari.
Additionally, the friendly bar and grill seats 120 guests and is managed by Food and Beverage Director Joey Stalcup. The inviting outdoor patio seats another 110 people, and overlooks the pool. The bar and grill is open Sunday through Thursday, from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A Sunday breakfast buffet also is featured from 8 a.m. to noon.
The country club features an elegant hall with an immense dance floor. The hall can cater up to 500 guests, and is a perfect location for large functions or wedding receptions. To complement your dining experience every Friday and Saturday throughout the winter season, Apache Wells Country Club showcases live entertainment without a cover charge. Headliners include James Lee, Rick Jones, Greg James and the Bamboo Bombers.
“The Bamboo Bombers is a six-piece band that has been playing for about three years now, and we play the music you know,” said Jeff, not only the AWCC golf pro but also the band’s bass guitarist. “We mostly play 60s and 70s rock, along with some country, some Motown,” he continued. “We offer a diverse selection.”
