The Scottsdale Philharmonic will perform traditional holiday classical pieces in a special Dec. 9 Holiday Concert hosted by Scottsdale Arts at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 East 2nd St., Scottsdale, 85251.
Tickets for the Holiday Concert, from 4 to 6 p.m., are $5 to $10 and are available at ScottsdaleArts.org , or call (480) 499-TKTS (8587).
“Music is an important part of the holidays for many people,” says Joy Partridge, president and co-founder of the Scottsdale Philharmonic. “People of all ages will recognize and enjoy these pieces such as Sleigh Ride and the Nutcracker Overture.”
“Our mission has grown,” continues Joy. “The Scottsdale Philharmonic has formed a Scottsdale Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, premiering in 2019, for all high school students in the Valley. We are also working to create an Annual Scottsdale Children’s Concert to introduce all third graders to classical music. Last spring, we provided four music camp scholarships to underprivileged youth.”
