With the Medicare Annual Enrollment period running from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, this is the time you can change your prescription drug plans or Medicare Advantage plans if you have been previously enrolled in Medicare.
It is always a good idea to take a look at what is available for the next year. Drug plans often change formularies, costs or even preferred pharmacies. Just last week, I was visiting with a couple who both have a Medicare supplement plan and a prescription drug plan.
They had been on the same drug plan for the past eight years. In reviewing their current medications, we determined there was a different plan that could save them hundreds of dollars a year in costs. Because of plan changes, as well as health changes, it is a good idea to confirm you are on the right plan for your current needs.
Another question I often get is, “What do I need to do before I retire or turn 65 to ensure I am ready to enroll in Medicare?” If you are planning on retiring this next year, or you are turning 65, please give me a call to set up an appointment. I can walk you through the steps to enroll in Medicare, as well as help you choose a Medicare plan.
I live in East Mesa, and am willing to come to your home or meet you at a designated location.
