It must sound crazy, but there are some great reasons to list your home during the holidays.
- People who are shopping for homes in December are more motivated.
- According to www.Realtor.com, Internet searches for real estate surge during the holidays. Even if buyers don’t physically go out and look at houses in December, the data tells us they definitely are spending a lot of time searching for real estate online during the holidays, in preparation for the spring buying season.
- Typically, there are fewer houses from which to choose during the holidays, and less competition is always a good thing for sellers.
- Houses show better when decorated for the holidays. Just don’t overdo it, and let us photograph the house before you decorate.
- Buyers often have vacation time, especially between the Christmas and New Year holidays, giving them extra time to look at homes.
- Visitors come to town to gather with family and enjoy great local activities, such as the Fiesta Bowl. After a few days of enjoying the beautiful weather, they very often become spontaneous buyers.
- Some buyers must purchase by the end of the year for tax reasons (again, more motivated shoppers).
- January is a natural time for people to begin new jobs. It also is the beginning of the second semester of school for kids. Consequently, individuals and families look at the end of December and beginning of January as an ideal time to make a move.
