Wright Orthodontics will be the title sponsor of Mountain View High School’s second annual Running With the Bulls 5K run, on Jan. 10, to benefit AzBrainfood and The Ronald McDonald House.
A nonprofit organization, AzBrainfood provides a backpack full of food to feed hungry children over the weekends, ensuring they are able to return to school physically satisfied and prepared to learn on Monday.
The Ronald McDonald House provides resources to families with a hospitalized child, most often offering affordable housing near hospitals. The facility allows families to stay near a child receiving medical treatment.
“It’s a really fun community race for all ages, and it benefits two amazing charities,” said Althea Beltran. She worked with the student council and Dr. Wright’s wife, Janeen, to make the event the success it is today.
The run began two years ago when the Mountain View High School Student Council, including the Wright family’s daughter, dreamed up the idea of the run, and decided to make it a reality. Last year’s event drew nearly 400 runners, and this year is expected to be even bigger.
This year, the race will include the 5K for the adults and a free kid’s run. Activities for younger participants also are planned. Those running in the 5K will each receive a sport T-shirt and a backpack, along with other surprises and goodies.
We hope you will take the opportunity to kick off 2015 with a healthy and charitable start by participating in this fantastic community event. After you rock the run, we encourage you to rock your smile by visiting one of Wright Orthodontics’ five locations, where they will make sure you achieve the Wright smile.
