If you have an interest in learning about everything from Arizona back roads, to hiking and an African safari, join New Frontiers for Lifelong Learning.
A total of 69 classes were offered for the spring semester. On Sept. 15, after paying $80 for the fall and spring semesters and summer session, people can sign up online for as many classes as their schedules will allow.
Participants can learn about cruising the Danube and the life and music of Mozart, as well as wisdom seekers, magic for grandchildren and adrenal fatigue. Information also is offered about Marie Curie, Arizona pioneer history and cowboy poetry. Still more learning is related to rising from circumstances, meals for one or two, the philosopher’s toolkit, a digital camera workshop, and many, many other subjects.
Classes meet at the three Mesa Community College (MCC) campuses. They are located at Southern Ave. and Dobson Road; downtown, at 165 N. Centennial Way; and Red Mountain, at McKellips and Power roads. Additional locations are at East Valley Adult Resource centers, at 247 N. Macdonald St., as well as 7550 E. Adobe Road and many other locations in Mesa.
New Frontiers for Lifelong Learning, sponsored by MCC, is a peer-led organization, which offers the opportunity to expand personal learning and increase social resources. The organization also provides opportunities to volunteer for the college and in the community.
