With their sleek, uncluttered look, cordless window treatments are an attractive option no matter what your taste in design. Aesthetics aside, however, cordless window treatments are a safer option than corded window treatments, if you have small children or pets in your home.
Cordless window treatments are great for standard size, easy to reach windows. Cordless, horizontal blinds and shades operate with a cordless lifting mechanism, making opening and closing a snap. Simply pull down on the bottom rail or push up from the base of the rail. To open and close blind slats, tilt the rail forward or backward. (Some blinds come with a tilt wand that you twist to rotate the slats, rather than tilting the rail.)
For the ultimate in cordless ease, you might want to consider automated (smart) blinds and shades. You can control automated blinds or shades with a remote, an app on your smartphone, or even your voice (when integrated with a smart home system).
For added convenience, you can schedule automated shades to move at certain times of the day, like open at 7 a.m. every morning for your first cup of coffee.
